What happened to my free service?

Yesterday Wikipedia went dark in English speaking countries to protest what they believe is a threat to the freedom of the internet.  I am not going to comment on that as most of you know my feelings already.  However, I do think this subject is related to music and its demise.

The music industry died because instead of embracing change they tried to legislate against it.  That never works.

Any community that tries to ignore or steamroll through change is going to fail – the carcasses of those failed attempts litter the landscape.

As a member of the high-end music loving community I am always happy to support those companies that embrace change and seize the moment to their advantage – it’s the right thing to do.

Now the only problem I have is I threw out all my old encyclopedias!
